The world - A brief introduction.
Eropulouy believes that there are many parallel universes, and each universe has control of a certain type of magic. Eropulouy controls the magic of subtlety.
Whenever a person uses a type of magic that is from another universe, the two universes come closer to each other. So far, no two universes have collided, but it is bound to happen one day.
In Eropulouy, there are magicians, mythological creatures and half-humans. It is possible to be a half-human with any animal which size is close to the one of a human's, or smaller, but it is not possible to be half insect. Magicians are born with their abilities, and have nothing to do with their ethnicities or parents. Mythological creatures tend to stay away from humans, with the exception of the human-like Northern wood nymph, who mingle by seducing men or becoming blacksmiths.
ONTO THE GENERAL INFORMATION!
Souls
Unlike the people in our world, the people of Eropulouy have souls that are physical and very much visible. Most people have their souls somewhere inside their bodies, for example their head, their wrist, their knee, et cetera. The souls also have a particular shape and a personal colour that says something about the person it rests within. A few rarities are the people who have their souls outside their bodies and the people who don't have souls at all. It's easy to find out what colour and shape your soul is, as long as someone remembers; a newborn baby's skin is pretty much transparent for the first two weeks.
The rule of the souls says that a person doesn't really die until the solid lump of soul is crushed. When it comes to the soulless, they are almost immortal. The truth about them is that their soul never connected to them and never gained a solid form, and is floating around between the particles somewhere in the world. So far, no soulless person has ever retrieved his soul, and have in stead died of old age, hunger or thirst.
Soulless people are easy to spot despite their rarity. Their eyes have somewhat withdrawn into the eye sockets, and they look constantly tired. There's a rumour that says that souls are cold. This is not proven, but is believeable as the soulless are warmer than the average human. Due to their bodies producing more body heat, the soulless sleep longer than others.
Ranks of magicians
Non-magical: People who can't perform magic. They can still enjoy the fun of alchemy.
Normals: The lowest form for magic. Mostly used for daily chores. It's also known as household magic or work magic. Normals mostly use grey magic.
Specialists: When a magician is advanced within one type of magic, but considered a normal in other types of magic, he is a specialist.
Affected: When a magician is advanced within almost every type of magic (of course, no one really knows of all kinds of magic), he gets affected physically by the magic he uses the most.
Olders: When magicians use magic that craves more than just a movement or a keyword, they have to use energy for it to come forth. The more a magician uses this form of magic, the more energy he uses, which causes him to grow old quicker than someone who doesn't use expert magic.
Soulless: The most dangerous spells are the ones that use so much energy that it kills your soul but leaves you alive. Those who are born soulless will not be affected by this, but the ones who have lost their souls to these types of magic spells, strongly suggest everyone to avoid using spells of this kind.
Naturals: An extreme rarity. The chance of being a natural is 1/500,000. Naturals are more physical than any other magician, and can change their bodies into strange substances. No other magician can do this. The difference between body changing elixirs and the naturals is that naturals can change into non-living object. If a normal magician tries this - and succeeds - he dies.
Types of magic
White magic: Used for healing, helping and protecting. White magic will automatically be canceled if it will help an evil cause. It's also the only magic that is immune to black magic.
Black magic: It is evil, but it doesn't make the magician evil for using it. Black magic is used to cause damage, no matter if it's used for good or for evil. Using a black spell against another black spell tends to end with nothing happening at all. This does not happen all the time, though. Black magic is not the strongest form of magic, but can be mighty and powerful if used in the "correct" way.
Grey magic: Normal magic, household magic, work magic. It is not meant to cause damage, though accidents occur. It's mostly used to clean, lift, reform, crush, cleanse and move around, thus called work magic.
Dead magic: It's not necessarily evil magic, but can be incredibly dangerous if the magician is unskilled. This form of magic consists of voodoo and dead bodies, including disturbed souls and zombiefications. Magicians who have control over this magic are often called if someone needs to get rid of a haunting ghost. Zombiefication means making dead bodies move after the magician's wishes. This is illegal, but sadly enough used around the world by playful specialists. Because of this, there have been more and more people who wish to be cremated.
Elemental magic: Uncommon type of magic. Most of the registered naturals throughout the ages have had a certain comprehension of elemental magic.
---Fire magic: Could be making fire of oxygen, manipulate fire, exhaust fire. Naturals only can turn their bodies into fire.
---Air magic: Can create anything between a light breeze to a harsh tornado. Can also be used to make one fly. Naturals can turn their body into air and completely disappear from one's sight.
---Water magic: Manipulate water, sort out different kinds of liquid, or even breathe under water for a limited time. Naturals can turn liquid.
---Earth magic: Talk to nature, make it grow, inspire plants to grow tall and beautiful. Specialists may be able to make any kind of plant grow anywhere, no matter if it may die just a few moments later. Naturals can completely mesh together with plants and ground.
Animal magic: Obtain animal senses for a limited time. The difference between this magic and half-humans is that half-humans have their other half's senses constantly. It is also possible to use magic to understand animals - of course, not all animals make sense. Naturals can morph into various animals for an unlimited amount of time, as opposed to shape shifting elixirs that can make one morph into an animal for a limited amount of time.
Subtle magic: The magic that this world controls. It consists of hiding in the shadows and turning invisible. Subtle magic can not be seen when cast.
Electric magic: A very uncommon magic that frightens people who have never heard of it. Is used to either make thunder storms or light up a room. It is rumoured to be drawn from the particles in the air, and might just be that in stead of drawing it from another dimension.
Sense magic: Another uncommon magic that deals with a living being's senses, all from the regular five senses to the more subtle senses like the sixth sense. Manipulating the taste sense so the broccoli tastes like cotton candy, is a common example. Mostly used by more advanced magicians.
More magic to come...
Magic stones
Blessed or cursed objects are world wide, some rarer than others, some made by humans, some by Northern wood nymphs and some made by nature. The magic stones are made by nature, and are the most common magical objects.
Each stone has its own ability and affects its owner and its surroundings. The effect is all based on the stone's colour, size and roughness. The bigger it is, the stronger it is. If a big stone is crushed into two smaller stones, each of those stones will have half the power of the original one. The rougher it is, the more reliable it is - though most people think it otherwise.
Types of stones:
Alizarin: Makes one forgetful.

A few magic items created by humans:
The numbers are as following: The amount of items left in the world / the original amount created.
0056/0238 - Happiness mirror: Whenever one looks into this mirror, one sees what makes one happy and/or what one seeks, and where to get it.
0003/0027 - Admiration necklace: Beautiful necklace that is sure to grant attention.
0041/0102 - Hypnotic medallion: Speaks for itself.
0956/1101 - Balance belt: Reduces the chances of falling over, as well as keeping the user's back straight.
0001/0001 - Delusional glasses: When used, you see only what you desire the most. Many people have died wearing this pair of glasses.
Invisible guardians:
Every living being with a soul has an invisible guardian of the opposite gender. Their purpose is to protect a being's soul. If a person's soul is outside his or her body, the invisible guardian is where the soul is located rather than following the person.
These people and the soulless are more likely to get into danger than someone who has their guardian follow them.
Regular people are not able to see, feel or hear their guardians. Some people also reject the idea of having a guardian, thinking they're evil in disguise, while others take advantage of their guardians by asking them constantly for help.
Some people who are psychic are able to sense, feel, locate and/or see their invisible guardian. This has nothing to do about how attached they are to their guardian, as much as just being psychic.
Most people, psychic or not, are able to receive an answer from their guardian when asking the question, "What is your name?" Their names can be anything in the world, and as well as hearing the name, you'll also be told how it's written.
They are rarely closely related to the person unless the person has a second guardian (example: if a boy lost his mother, this mother may become her son's second guardian, but could also become her daughter's guardian despite of being of the same gender).
Transgendered people have a guardian of the opposite gender of what their inner person is. Their body does not determine the gender of their guardian.
So far nobody has figured out what guardians really are. Scientists and supernatural investigators have made a few suggestions, like the guardians being a part of the soul that takes form (despite being invisible) and personality, or that the guardians are from other (or same?!) dimensions, parted from their own life, and cannot procede to the afterlife until they've been someone's guardian.

Half-humans
Obviously, a human and an animal's child becomes a half-human, and a half-human and a human's child is three fourths human and one fourth animal. When the amount of animal becomes 1/32, the result is very often a human with no physical signs of having an animal in the family, but may have some animal abilities or instincts.
If the case is the other way around, it's basically an animal with a human's intelligence, but still has the animal's instinct. The strength of the instinct and the intelligence has all to say whether or not the creature can control its urges.

They burn in the sun, have long and sharp canine teeth, may leave their victims alive after drinking, are most often malicious, and cannot enter a house without being invited.
